Norbert Michelisz to remain with Zengő for 2014

Norbert Michelisz will remain with the Zengő Motorsport team for the 2014 World Touring Car Championship, racing a Honda Civic built to the new regulations by JAS Motorsport.

Hungarian Michelisz has competed with the Zengő Motorsport team since joining the series full-time in 2010. He started out by racing a turbo diesel SEAT in 2010, during which he scored his maiden win at the final race in Macau.

Michelisz and Zengő moved to BMW power for 2011, and continued with the marque throughout 2012, with Michelisz taking a sensational home victory at the Hungaroring that season.

For 2013 the team switched to a brand new Honda Civic, built by the Italian JAS Motorsport team who run the official Honda cars. Thus far Michelisz has scored one win, taken last time out at Suzuka in Japan. Michelisz has also scored six podiums so far in 2013, more than any other season he has competed in the WTCC.

With new regulations coming in for 2014, the team will once again be supplied with a brand new Honda built to the more aggressive-looking specifications.

“I’m very happy with having the possibility to continue with Zengő Motorsport and Honda,” said Michelisz. “With the experience we built up since 2010 and the help from JAS Motorsport and Honda I am confident we’ll have the potential to fight for top positions in 2014.”
