André Couto gets Campos seat for Macau

Portugese-Macanese racer André Couto will once again join the World Touring Car Championship grid in Macau, racing a third SEAT León for Campos Racing.

Couto, 36, has participated in every WTCC event in Macau since 2005, although he failed to start either race in 2007 due to a qualifying accident.

He made his first WTCC appearance at the event in 2005, when he raced a fifth works Alfa Romeo, impressively qualifying in second. His first SEAT appearance came in 2006 with the works SEAT Sport squad, where he scored his best-ever result in seventh.

Since 2006 Couto has made appearances at the wheel of independent cars and for the past four seasons he has raced a SEAT León at the event.

Couto will compete alongside regular Campos Racing drivers Fernando Monje and Hugo Valente and will be eligible to score points in both the Yokohama Trophy and the EuroSport Asia Trophy.
