Andrew Jordan predicts difficult Silverstone

Andrew Jordan is predicting a difficult weekend at Silverstone as the British Touring Car Championship completes its Northamptonshire double header.

Rockingham saw Jordan overturn a 6 point deficit to the Honda of Matt Neal and with his first double victory in the BTCC, coupled with an 8th place finish, means he left leading the Championship by 30 points.

“To go into the Rockingham weekend six points behind and go out 30 points ahead: it doesn’t get much better than that,” said Jordan.

Jordan is now the only driver to have scored in every race – and with six wins to his name –Donington Park, Oulton Park, Snetterton, Knockhill and the Rockingham double has made Jordan the most successful driver in the 2013 campaign.

Silverstone, as like last year, isn’t expected to suit the Honda’s as straight line speed is all important. Jordan arrives with 45kgs of success ballast on the #77 Pirtek Racing Honda Civic and is looking for a damage limitation weekend ahead of the season finale at Brands Hatch.

He isn’t taking anything for granted ahead of the trip to the home of British Motorsport as he knows that he could have a weekend like Neal had at Rockingham.

“But Matt Neal had a bad day at Rockingham, and that could be us at Silverstone. There are still six races to go, so I don’t want to get too excited. Silverstone will be tough for the Hondas, but we’re really only racing the other two Hondas at the moment,” Jordan added.

As well as holding a 30 point advantage in the overall drivers’ Championship, Jordan leads by 42 points in the Independents’ standings while Pirtek Racing holds 3rd in the HiQ Teams’ Championship and a 34 point lead in the Independents’ Teams’ Championship.
