China Dragon Racing are to join the World Touring Car Championship for the final three Asian events of the season with a pair of normally-aspirated Chevrolet Cruze’s driven by Filipe Clemente de Souza and Ng Kin Veng.
The Chinese team entered the championship for the first time in 2009, when they fielded a single BMW for Macanese racer Lei Kit Meng. The team reappeared at the end of the 2012 season with a pair of Chevrolet Lacetti and Chevrolet Cruze respectively for De Souza and Ng. At the season finale in Macau a third car, a second Lacetti, was added for local racer Célio Alves Dias.
The team are set to use two Chevrolet Cruze’s in 2013, entering the Japanese, Chinese and Macanese rounds and thus being eligible for the new-for-2013 Asia Trophy.
Both drivers have been competing in the Macau Touring Car Championship in 2013, with Ng classified in second and De Souza in fifth.
