Andrew Jordan has ‘Good Croft memories’

Andrew Jordan and the Pirtek Racing team head north to Croft for the fifth round of the 2013 British Touring Car Championship looking to strengthen their Championship position.

Jordan arrives at Croft just four points off the lead of the Championship after taking his second victory of the 2013 campaign at Oulton Park while he holds a commanding lead in the Independents’ class.

Croft holds a number of special memories for Jordan as he secured his first rallycross victory at the circuit while the 2010 season saw Jordan secure his maiden BTCC victory at the wheel of a Vauxhall Vectra.

“I’ve got a lot of good memories of Croft,” he said. “I scored my first Rallycross win there and my first BTCC win.”

Looking ahead to the weekend, Jordan expects the teams’ Honda Civic to be competitive despite carrying 36 kilos of success ballast throughout practice, qualifying and the first race of the day.

“The weight will hurt us out of the first gear hairpin onto the pits straight,” added Jordan.

“Round the quick corners it shouldn’t make too much of a difference so I think we’ll be pretty strong and I’m looking forward to going there. Croft is a proper old school track and it is always good to go back to those circuits where you have a lot of good memories,” he concluded.

Team-mate Jeff Smith lies 8th in the drivers’ standings while the team are third in the teams’ Championship and leading the way in the Independent Teams’ Trophy.
