Münnich Motorsport chases Slovak podium

The ALL-INKL.com Münnich Motorsport team head to Slovakia for rounds 5 and 6 of the 2013 World Touring Car Championship looking to secure their maiden podium finish.

The team, who joined the grid for 2013 with three SEAT Leon’s for reigning WTCC Champion Rob Huff, 2012 FIA GT1 World Champion Marc Basseng and René Münnich, have secured three top five positions, with Basseng securing the teams’ best result with fourth at Monza and in Marrakech.

Basseng secured a podium finish at the 5.9km Slovakia Ring in 2012 en route to the GT1 Championship title and is hoping to replicate that result in the WTCC.

“Of course it would be great if I can manage that again in a new car and a new world championship series,” explains the 34 year old who is also the ALL-INKL.com Münnich Motorsport Team Manager.

“We know the 5.922 kilometre long track, had good test drives before the start of the season and we are sure that this track will fit us, “added Basseng, who is 7th in the Championship after the opening four races.

Team-mate Huff secured a victory in the inaugural WTCC Race of Slovakia last year as he secured the title for the first time. Huff’s best finish to date in the SEAT is a 5th place in Marrakech.

“The guys did a great job so far. The cars and the whole team are well prepared. Now we want to reward us on the Slovakia ring,” concluded Basseng, who hopes to give Münnich an early birthday present as he turns 36 at the beginning of May.
