Norbert Michelisz targets African points

Norbert Michelisz and the Zengo Motorsport team head to Marrakech for the second round of the 2013 World Touring Car Championship, looking to add to their points finish at Monza.

After the wet weekend at Monza in Italy, the 2012 Yokohama Independents’ Champion is hoping for drier running on the 4.5km Circuit Moulay El Hassan, the circuit consisting of two long straights with tight chicanes, a long left turn and a tight hairpin at the end of the lap.

After the struggles of Monza, the team and Michelisz are hoping for a competitive weekend and to bring home more Championship points in the #5 Zengo Motorsport Honda Civic.

“The most important thing for me is to run as much as possible with the car under dry circumstances,” explains Michelisz.

He is aiming high for the weekend as he knows anything can happen on a street circuit.

“A lot of things can happen on such a track, of course. My target is to score some points”, adds Michelisz, who picked up a ninth place finish in the BMW 320TC in the 2012 WTCC race of Morocco.

The team are hoping to find out what they need to work on after the Monza races and are sure of the cars potential.

“After Monza, we know what we have to work on, and we also know that the car has potential. If everything goes right we should be able to finish inside the top 10 in both races and to have a solid technical base for the following races,” concludes Michelisz.
