Andrew Jordan ready for home weekend

Andrew Jordan is ready for the second weekend of the 2013 British Touring Car Championship from Donington Park, as he looks to build upon his strong start to the season.

Having taken Pole Position at Brands Hatch, the 2012 Independents’ Champion secured a brace of second place finishes and a sixth place to arrive in the East Midlands second in the Championship, just nine points off the Championship lead.

Pirtek Racing see both their drivers inside the Championship top 4 as Jeff Smith secured his second career podium at Brands Hatch while in the Independents’, Jordan and Smith lead the way while the team are second in the overall teams’ Championship and leading in the Independent teams’ trophy.

“Brand was a really good start to the season,” explains Jordan.

“If we could have ten weekends like that one, we could win the championship. The challenge now is to put nine more together, starting at Donington.”

Having topped the times during the official Media Day at Donington Park back in March, Jordan is confident ahead of rounds 4, 5 and 6 of the season.

“The car was really good at Donington during the media day last month and I love racing at Donington. It’s my local circuit and I’ll go there feeling very confident. Everything is good: the car, the team and the driver!” he concluded.
