Franz Engstler and Charles Ng return in 2013

Liqui Moly Team Engstler has confirmed that it will compete in the 2013 World Touring Car Championship with the same line up which they ran in 2012.

The German based outfit will once again field a brace of BMW 320TC cars with WTCC race winner Franz Engstler and Hong Kong racer Charles Kaki Ng at the wheel of their cars.

2012 saw Engstler secure a best finish of fifth in Spain while Ng scored his only Championship points in China at the Shanghai International Circuit. Engstler rounded out the campaign fourth in the Yokohama Independents’ and 12th overall while Ng, who completed his first full WTCC campaign finished 16th in the Independents’ trophy and 25th in the overall Championship.

“We are confident that they both will be able to improve their results,” commented Liqui Moly Team Engstler Team Manager Kurt Treml.

“Franz is an experienced driver who even managed to claim a WTCC outright victory two years ago at Oschersleben, while Charles has got to know the championship serving his apprenticeship during his first full season in WTCC. We are very grateful to Liqui Moly for confirming their support and confidence in our outfit.”
