Gabriele Tarquini made up for his morning problems to post the fifth quickest time, 0.720 seconds off Menu’s time. Sixth quickest, ensuring there were five Chevrolet’s in the top six, was Alex MacDowall who was also the last driver to lap within a second of the pace.

Tuenti Racing Team drivers Pepe Oriola and Tiago Monteiro were seventh and eighth fastest, with Franz Engstler and Norbert Michelisz rounding out the top ten, the duo around 1.3 seconds off the pace.

Brit James Nash was again the fastest Team Aon driver in 11th, just ahead of Italian Alberto Cerqui. Having been fourth fastest in the first practice session, ROAL Motorsport’s Tom Coronel could only manage 13th in second practice, finishing just over 1.5 seconds off Menu’s quickest time.

The session was interrupted on two occasions, the first being seven minutes in when Special Tuning Racing’s Darryl O’Young hit the tyres on the inside of turn one, leaving his damaged SEAT stranded on the chicane. The incident meant that O’Young was unable to set a competitive time, leaving him 19th fastest.

Around 20 minutes into the session BMW drivers Gábor Wéber and Stefano D’Aste also had off-track excursions into the gravel, resulting in further session stoppages.

Qualifying takes place at 1545 CET (1445 GMT).
