Pole sitter and race one winner Rob Collard had initially held the lead, but was soon caught and passed in one go by both Neal and Plato on lap five. The safety car was required for a number of laps after Nick Foster flipped his BMW on the exit of Druids on lap six.

Neal and Plato were thereafter involved in a fierce battle for the lead, with Plato even leading the race for two laps before dropping back as his tyres wore. Jordan, running third and coming on strong late in the race, passed Plato on lap 24 to make it a Honda 1-2.

Mat Jackson took fourth in his Ford Focus ST, just ahead of Rob Austin in his Audi A4. Race one winner Collard could only manage sixth, struggling with the extra 45kg of success ballast he received for his earlier win.

Seventh was Pirtek Motorsport’s Jeff Smith, just ahead of AmD Tuning’s Ollie Jackson and a recovering Dave Newsham who finished ninth after having started down in 20th place. Completing the top ten was Tom Onslow-Cole, despite having earlier had to serve a drive-through penalty for jumping the start.

In 2012 points are awarded down to 15th position and Daniel Welch, Liam Griffin, Tony Gilham, Andy Neate and Lea Wood completed the points-paying positions. Wood had been running in eighth until he was handed a drive-through penalty for exceeding the limits of the circuit one too many times.

There were further reliability issues for the second works Honda of Gordon Shedden who pulled into the pit-lane to retire on lap 13.

Neither Toyota of Frank Wrathall or Adam Morgan made the start of the race due to their technical problems and crash respectively in race one.
