Young Russian David Sigacev is set to join the World Touring Car Championship at the next meeting at Valencia. Sigacev will join Liqui Moly Team Engstler to race a third BMW 320 TC alongside Franz Engstler and Kristian Poulsen.
The WTCC débutant will make his entry under the DeTeam KK Motorsport banner that has previously been seen earlier in the season when Marchy Lee Ying Kin entered the first six races.
Sigacev, 22, has previously competed in the 2007 Formula Renault 2000 Northern European Cup and the Porsche Carrera Cup in Germany in 2009, where he finished 13th in the championship. More recently he has been competing in the ADAC GT Masters series at the wheel of a Mercedes SLS AMG.
Sigacev’s presence on the grid will make him the second-youngest driver competing this season, after Pepe Oriola.
