Located in Grantsville, Utah Motorsports Campus, previously known as the Miller Motorsports Park from 2006 to 2015, was built to become the state’s only permanent road racing facility.

Financed by Larry H. Miller, a car dealerships entrepreneur and owner of NBA team Utah Jazz, the original concept for the facility was as a home for his personal collection of classic cars.

However, with local demand and persuasion from connections in the industry, the scope of the circuit was soon expanded, with the budget soon lifted to closer to $100 million.

The 7.22-kilometre full course is amongst the longest in North America. Designed by Alan Wilson, construction of the whole circuit began in April 2015 and was completed within 12 months.

In its early years, the circuit was a popular venue for sportscar racing, with the American Le Mans Series a regular visitor for the first five years of the circuit’s operations. The SCCA World Challenge series also made regular visits, but since being taken over by SRO in 2018 it has not returned.

Miller died in 2009 and the circuit continued to be run by his family until 2015, when it was purchased by Mitime Investment and Development Group, a subsidiary of the Chinese car manufacturer Geely – although the sale was not completed until 2018.
