Franco Girolami, the younger brother of WTCR racer Néstor Girolami, will make his début in the TCR Europe series this weekend at Jarama, contesting the season finale for PSS Racing.
Girolami has previously competed in a Honda Civic TCR car in TCR Italy, when he took part in the opening two rounds of the 2020 season at Mugello and Misano with MM Motorsport.
The Argentine finished second in his second-ever race and followed up with a sixth at the next event at Misano.
The 28-year-old follows in the footsteps of his older brother, with Néstor having stood in for Viktor Davidovsky in the season opener at Circuit Paul Ricard.
Girolami has competed most extensively in his native Argentina, where he claimed the 2012 TC2000 title in a Fiat Linea, before switching to the Top Race series, where he took the title in 2018.
As well as his TCR Italy outings this year, in 2020 he has continued in Top Race as a title contender. He is currently second overall with one win to his name.
Davidovsky himself has only contested one race meeting this year so far due to COVID-19 travel restrictions for the Macedonian, taking ninth in race one at Monza as his best result. He will line up in a second Honda this weekend, marking the first time PSS Racing has fielded two cars in the series.
