Jamie Green kept Audi on top of the times in the second DTM free practice session at the Lausitzring, although the Briton’s lap time was slightly slower than first practice pace-setter Loïc Duval, who was second.
Green kept the Ingolstadt marque at the top of the timesheets – the tenth time out of 13 sessions so far this year – with a lap of 1 minute 36 seconds exactly, just 0.004 seconds ahead of Duval.
However Green’s time was marginally slower than Duval had been earlier in the day, when the Frenchman set a lap which was 0.015 seconds quicker.
Audi dominated the session once again, locking out the top six places, with Dutchman Robin Frijns in third ahead of the private WRT-run Audi of South African Jonathan Aberdein in fourth.
Points leader René Rast was fifth, ahead of title rival Nico Müller in sixth – the duo two and three tenths adrift respectively.
Team RMG’s Marco Wittmann was the best of the BMW runners in seventh, ahead of Team RMR’s Timo Glock in eighth.
The top ten was completed by the private Audi of Peitro Fittipaldi and BMW Team RMG’s Bruno Spengler.
Once again none of the R Motorsport Aston Martin drivers broke into the top ten, with the Swiss-run cars propping up the timesheets in the bottom four places, with Daniel Juncadella the best of the quartet just under a second off the pace.
Qualifying for race one is scheduled for 10:35 CEST (09:35 BST) on Saturday.
