Callum Newsham will continue to race in the 2026 TCR UK Championship, with the Scot renewing his partnership with JH Racing to compete in a Hyundai Elantra N TCR.
Newsham, 26, took the title to the wire in the 2025 season, where he ended up as the runner-up after his best season to-date, scoring four victories and a total of 13 podiums out of the 17 races.
Entering into his fifth season, Newsham will be on of the favourites for the title in the coming campaign.
Having made his debut in 2022 with Power Maxed Racing, Newsham switched to JH Racing for 2023 where he has remained, progressively improving each year and scoring a total of ten wins in the series to-date.
Newsham started 2025 in a Hyundai i30 N TCR, before switching to a newer Elantra N TCR for the final two events of the season, ultimately missing out on the title by just 38 points.
“I’m really excited to be coming back to TCR UK for 2026 with JH Racing,” said Newsham. “The last two seasons have been very strong for us — third in 2024 and Vice Champion in 2025 — but the target now is clear. I want to be on the top step.
“The Hyundai Elantra was a big step forward for us last year, and continuing with JH Racing gives me total confidence that we’ve got everything we need to fight for the championship.
“I’m more motivated than ever and can’t wait to get back on the grid.”
Team Principal James Hone is pleased to be able to continue working with Newsham for a fourth season.
“Continuing into our fourth season with Callum gives all of us at JH Racing a great sense of pride,” said Hone.
“We have been devastatingly close to winning the championship twice now with the i30 N. Now our switch to Hyundai Motorsport’s latest machinery — the Elantra N EVO — and having already secured the model’s first-ever race win on UK soil with Callum, combined with a full revamp behind the scenes over the winter, puts us in our best starting position yet ahead of the 2026 season.
“It’s been a very long winter and we’re all itching to get going.”
Championship Manager Jack Finlan welcomed the confirmation of Newsham’s return.
“It’s great to see Callum returning to TCR UK for 2026,” added Finlan. “His progression from third in 2024 to Vice Champion in 2025 shows his determination and quality as a driver.
“Having competitors of Callum’s calibre targeting the title is exactly what makes TCR UK such a strong championship, and we’re really looking forward to seeing him back on the grid.”
