Irish racer Barry-John McHenry will join the TCR UK Championship in 2026, racing an ex-Volcano Motorsport Audi RS3 LMS TCR prepared by Vannin Motorsport.
McHenry will race the Audi which was used in the 2024 FIA TCR World Tour for his début in the UK series.
The Dublin-based driver recently competed in the Fiesta ST240 Championship in 2022 and 2023, ending the year 11th overall in the drivers’ standings in 2022 with Kellett Motorsport before completing a part-season in 2023.
During his on-off racing career, having started competing in 2006, McHenry also won the 2011 Abarth Trophy Championship.
McHenry, a car salesman through Dunshaughlin Motor Company, will prepare for the new season with a testing programme to familiarise himself with the RS3.
“I’ve spent the last few years working closely with and supporting other drivers, so I’m really looking forward to getting back in the car myself,” said McHenry.
“Joining TCR UK is a great opportunity, and I’m excited to get racing again.”
TCR UK Championship Manager Jack Finlan added: “It’s great to see Barry-John joining the TCR UK Championship.
“He brings a lot of experience from different categories, and it’s always encouraging to see drivers make the step into TCR. We’re looking forward to seeing how he gets on in 2026.”
