Power Maxed Racing confirms switch to new Audi S3 model for 2026

Power Maxed Racing has confirmed that it will switch to running newly-developed Audi S3 Saloon cars in the 2026 British Touring Car Championship and beyond.

The team ran Vauxhall Astras in the BTCC from 2017 to 2025, before being forced to switch to CUPRA Leons for the final four events of the current season after a devastating fire at its base.

The Warwickshire-based team will now embark on a new chapter as it brings new Audis to the grid for next season.

The Audi S3 nameplate previously competed in the BTCC from 2014 to 2020. Rotek Racing ran the car in 2014 before the car was acquired by AmD Tuning for 2015, which scaled up to two cars from 2017.

Power Maxed Racing will now bring the latest model of S3 to the grid, following an extensive evaluation of the current BTCC technical landscape.

“We’re incredibly excited to announce the switch to the Audi S3 saloon for 2026,” said Power Maxed Racing Team Principal Adam Weaver.

“The BTCC is all about pushing boundaries and staying competitive, and we believe the Audi platform gives us a fantastic base to build from.

“We’re committed to delivering a car that not only looks the part but can fight at the front of the grid from Round 1.

“Selecting the Audi platform was both strategic and competitive, as we believe the shape gives us an advantage and it also fits well with both existing and potential brand partners.”

Martin Broadhurst, Team Manager, added: “Developing a new car is always a challenge, but it’s one the entire PMR squad relishes.

“We’ve already started work on the design and development of the Audi S3 saloon, and the early data looks extremely promising.

“Fans can expect the same passion, flair, and determination that Power Maxed Racing has always brought to the BTCC.”
