George Jaxon switches to CUPRA Leon VZ for rest of TCR UK season

George Jaxon will change car for the third time in the current TCR UK season when he gets behind the wheel of a brand new CUPRA Leon VZ at the next event at Snetterton.

Jaxon began the season in one of the oldest cars on the grid when the Vannin Motorsport driver raced a Volkswagen Golf GTi for the opening round at Donington Park.

He then moved to a second-generation Audi RS3 LMS for the second event at Donington, which he has raced since, with a best result of fourth at Silverstone in May.

Jaxon, who made his series début in 2022 but is only now in his first full season of TCR in 2025, has now decided to change to the very latest TCR model, with a focus on the 2026 season.

“I’ve enjoyed my first season back in TCR UK, and I’m thrilled to have made steps forward with each race weekend,” said Jaxon.

“Whilst I have enjoyed driving the Audi Gen 2 car, it’s clear to me that the VZ TCR is more suited to UK circuits and that is the way forward for me.

“I made my commitment to racing in TCR UK earlier this year, and purchasing the VZ is the next step in my long-term plans.

“Snetterton and Brands Hatch will provide me with a chance to learn more about the car, ahead of my planned full-time entry for the 2026 season.”

Championship Promoter Stewart Lines is pleased that drivers are already looking ahead to their 2026 plans.

“George has already shown impressive improvement in his first season back in TCR UK at the wheel of the Audi, so it’s good to see another new TCR car join the grid for Snetterton and beyond,” added Lines.

“As we reach the penultimate event of the 2025 season, drivers and teams are already looking ahead to the 2026 season.

“I’m very happy to see George planning to be back with the VZ to return full-time next year, and I wish him all the best in the final two events of this season.”
