Jake Hill pleased after ‘most successful season’ brings a top three season for MB Motorsport

Jake Hill had his best season in the British Touring Car Championship but says “we need to work harder” to improve in the future.

After a chaotic final race of the season Hill came away as the victor. It all came together after a great move on the run up to Sheene Curve past Stephen Jelley and Josh Cook as the trio went three wide with Hill on the grass.

“Yeah it was a real gutsy move, but we pulled it off to take two in one and got a win, finally, at my home circuit.”

What looked like it could have been even more not too long ago at Silverstone 2023 was still Hill’s best season. The MB Motorsport driver is ‘very pleased’ with how his campaign has gone.

“There’s been some real highs with it. I’ve enjoyed it. It’s still my most successful season. Six wins is no mean feat. I’m the second most winningest driver, so that’s a nice thing to take away and lead BMW driver again. So I’m very pleased with the outcome.”

After a fifth and two third place finishes in the last three seasons Hill does not want a change of scenery for 2024. The #24 driver thinks that everything could already be in place to make a charge for the top spot.

“Hopefully, we get to go again. Same sort of thing I hope. We’ve just got to get the deal across the line and, obviously, try and go for out-and-out glory.

“I mean, that’s always the aim. NAPA turned up with a car that was extremely good and a driver that’s very good. So, take nothing away from them. They’ve done a brilliant job and they deserve to be champions, but we’ve just got to work harder.”
