Dušan Borković returns to TCR Europe with Target Competition

Experienced Serbian touring car star Dušan Borković will return to TCR Europe in 2023, racing a Hyundai Elantra N TCR for Target Competition.

The 38-year-old thus returns to the series following a year away from touring cars, in which he focussed on rallying and made a one-off appearance in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup.

Borković first raced in TCR Europe in 2018, when he was a title contender in Hyundai machinery with Target Competition.

He continued with the team in 2019, before splitting with them after a mid-season incident at the Red Bull Ring.

After a year in which he dominated TCR Eastern Europe in 2020, winning every single race from every single pole, he returned to TCR Europe in 2021 with Comtoyou Racing in an Audi, although the season yielded just one podium finish on his way to 12th overall.

Now for his 30th year in motorsport, and his 11th in touring car racing, Borković will return to the European championship.

“I am very excited to get back to TCR Europe, participate in the inaugural TCR World Ranking and especially considering that the series will run three joint events with the new TCR World Tour,” said Borković.

“The scoring system is much simpler than it seems. Often when explaining to my friends, I compare it to the scoring mechanism of the ATP rankings in tennis and then it becomes much clearer.

“My Team Borković and I always strive to keep up with the world motorsport scene in order to present all our partners and my country Serbia in the best possible way.

“A big challenge is ahead of us, but we are ready to give every atom of strength to reach the finals.”
