Dan Rowbottom topped the times in the final British Touring Car Championship free practice session ahead of qualifying at Oulton Park.
Rain threatened the Cheshire circuit, but it remained dry throughout the forty minute session.
As in FP1, Bobby Thompson set the pace early on before being pipped by Team Dynamic’s Gordon Shedden. The Honda Civic driver managed a 1 minute 26.144 second lap around the Oulton Park circuit.
The time would be beaten by team-mate Rowbottom on his first flying lap of the session. Rowbottom lowered the fastest lap to 1:25.858s, a time that wouldn’t be beaten for the remainder of the session.
It remained a Honda 1-2 at the top of the order until the closing stages of practice. Aiden Moffat, who had had problems getting out of the garage at the start of FP2, managed to go second quickest briefly, before the Exceler8 duo of Dan Lloyd and Tom Ingram found improvements.
Ingram put in one last flying lap to go second as he took the chequered flag, 0.059s slower than Rowbottom. Lloyd was a further 0.045s back.
Moffat ended practice fourth quickest ahead of Shedden and Toyota driver Rory Butcher.
Adam Morgan set the seventh quickest time, but was handed a black flag late in the session for exceeding track limits too many times. A number of drivers fell foul of track limits as they explored the limits of the circuit, but all but Morgan were only shown white and black warning flags.
Thompson dropped back to eighth by the chequered flag, but was the quickest driver eligible for the Jack Sears trophy.
Ricky Collard and Jake Hill completed the top 10, while championship leader Josh Cook could only manage P17.
Qualifying is scheduled to get underway at 15:30 BST.
