ROJA Motorsport will run two Hyundai Veloster N TCR cars in the ADAC TCR Germany series this year, with the team’s third car being a Hyundai i30 N TCR.
The Potsdam-based team ran a single i30 last year for Team Principal Robin Jahr, and along with Jessica Bäckman he will race the Hyundai Veloster cars.
The outfit’s third driver, who has yet to be named, will race the i30 N. Irishman Reece Barr recently tested one of the Veloster cars during pre-season testing.
The news marks the début of the Veloster N in TCR Germany, with the car having previously not raced outside North America, or Asia (in a one-off entry in TCR Malaysia in 2020) in standalone TCR series’.
“It’s a dream that comes true to driving the Veloster in TCR Germany this season,” said Jahr. “It’s a beautiful car that impresses with its look and performance, although is unfortunately not available as road car in Europe.
“I’m excited about this season and I look forward to the challenge of expanding the team from one to three cars.”
