Liveries revealed ahead of TCR Australia opener at Symmons Plains

Ahead of this weekend’s TCR Australia season opener at Symmons Plains raceway, teams have revealed their colour schemes for the 2022 season.

A field of 20 cars will tackle the opening round of the Australian series, including some high profile names.

Reigning champion Chaz Mostert will not return, but in his place are a number of star drivers.

Leading the entry list is 2019 champion and Supercars racer Will Brown, who will race an Audi RS3 LMS TCR entered by Melbourne Performance Centre.

Young charger Jay Hanson, meanwhile, has got his hands on the very latest specification Audi RS3 LMS from Audi Sport, meaning he will race the newest car in the field.

Supercars racer Fabian Coulthard is set to make his TCR Australia début this weekend with Wall Racing, where he will team up with Tony D’Alberto, who is returning for a third season in the category.

Aaron Cameron, the runner-up in 2021, will continue in a Garry Rogers Motorsport-run Peugeot 308 TCR, and he will be joined by Jordan Cox and Dylan O’Keeffe in the outfit.

Ben Bargwanna will also run in a Peugeot with support from GRM, with mentorship provided by his father Jason.

James Moffat will continue to race a Renault Mégane RS TCR, with series newcomer Kody Garland joining him in one of the Vukovic Motorsport-built cars.

HMO Customer Racing has expanded to three cars for 2022, with Josh Buchan and Nathan Morcom being joined by Bailey Sweeny in the trio of Hyundai cars.

Former Supercars ace Michael Caruso will again race an Alfa Romeo Giulietta, although he has switched teams from GRM to Ashley Seward Motorsport.

Numerous privateer entries complete the entry list, with Zac Soutar returning once again in his self-run Honda Civic.

Eddie Maguire will race a Melbourne Performance Centre-run Volkswagen Golf GTi in the opening round, with Lachlan Mineeff also returning to make it two Golf GTi cars in the opening round. Liam McAdam also returns in an Audi RS3 LMS.

Brad Shiels will again field a self-run Hyundai i30 N, whilst Braydan Wilmington will likewise race an privateer Alfa Romeo Giulietta.
