Isidro Callejas will race a CUPRA Leon Competición run by Volcano Motorsport in the 2022 TCR Europe series, becoming the first driver confirmed with the reigning teams and drivers champions.
Callejas, 17, made his début in touring car racing only last year, racing a Honda Civic Type-R for the Brutal Fish Racing Team.
The Spaniard was consistently in the points and ended the season 11th overall in the drivers’ standings, having claimed one podium finish at Zandvoort.
He also scored an outright pole position at the Nürburgring later in the year.
At the end of the season, he made a second guest appearance in the TCR Spain series, where he sampled a CUPRA Leon Competición with Volcano Motorsport for the first time in the Barcelona season finale.
Last year, Volcano Motorsport swept the floor with Mikel Azcona at the wheel of one of its cars, winning both the drivers’ and teams’ championships in a strong season for the Spanish outfit.
