2022 TCR Europe calendar published featuring Norisring race

The calendar for the 2022 TCR Europe series has been published, with the standout event being a first street race on the Norisring in Germany, whilst the Algarve Circuit in Portugal is also a new addition.

The series will once again take place over seven race weekends, with a total of 14 races being held supporting either the DTM or the International GT Open.

It will mark the first time that TCR Europe has had a chance to race on the famous Norisring city circuit in Nuremberg.

The season is scheduled to get underway at the Autódromo Internacional Algarve in Portugal at the end of April and beginning of May in support of the DTM.

It then moves to Circuit Paul Ricard three weeks’ later, before heading to Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium a month after that, both events supporting GT Open.

The Norisring event takes place on the first weekend in July, whilst the series then remains in Germany for a second event at the Nürburgring eight weeks later.

As has become the norm in recent years, the final two events will be at Monza in Italy in late September followed by the finale at Barcelona in Spain in mid-October.

“We are delighted with this list of events that once again put us in the position to offer our competitors the opportunity of racing on some of the most iconic circuits all around Europe,” said promoter Paulo Ferreira.

“We are very grateful to the promoters of DTM and GT Open for welcoming us in their events and we are confident that the situation will allow motorsport fans to return to the track and enjoy some close battles between the TCR Europe drivers.”
