Halder Motorsport returns to TCR Germany with Szymon Ładniak

Halder Motorsport will return to ADAC TCR Germany this weekend at the Hockenheimring, running a single Honda Civic for Szymon Ładniak.

The team had been a regular competitor of TCR Germany between 2018 and 2020, before leaving the series after the second round at the Lausitzring last year due to Mike Halder’s disqualification after winning race one, when he deactivated his fire extinguisher in Parc Fermé.

Mike and Michelle Halder went on to compete in the remainder of the TCR Europe season instead. In 2021, the brother and sister team have been competing in TCR Spain.

Ładniak will join the team for this weekend’s event, racing his third different car of the year. The Pole was rear-ended by Günter Benninger at the Lausitzring earlier this year, damaging his Volkswagen Golf GTi.

Having then skipped an event, for the event at the Sachsenring, he then switched to a CUPRA TCR, picking up his best result of the season with ninth in race one.

“We are happy that it worked out and are already looking forward to the weekend at the Hockenheimring,” said Team Principal Mike Halder. “I have a lot of experience with the Honda in general, but also with the Yokohama tires.

“Of course, I want to support Szymon as much as I can and share my experience with him. The free practice sessions will show more precisely where we stand.”

Halder has not yet met Ładniak in person but is confident of a strong return to the series as a team in Germany.

“I continued to follow the series from a distance,” added Halder, referring to his own withdrawal last year.

“I am sure that we have a good basis to have a successful weekend.”
