Dušan Borković ‘hopes to fight for top five positions’ at Zandvoort after difficult Paul Ricard

Dušan Borković has admitted he’s “already turned his efforts and energy to the next race” after the Serbian driver struggled in the two TCR Europe races at Circuit Paul Ricard.

Borković, driving one of the ComToYou Racing Audi’s alongside teammates Tom Coronel and Nicolas Baert, was forced to change his gearbox twice during the weekend and could only manage a total of 12 points across the two races.

The Serbian admitted that this weekend in France has been very difficult for him, in stark comparison to 2018 when he claimed a double win at the circuit.

“As soon as the problems with the car started during the first practice, I sensed that this would be a weekend without the results expected of me,” said Borković.

He also added that another issue he and the team faced was due to the extra weight the Audis had been given following their strong start to the season last time out in Slovakia.

“I have already turned my efforts and energy to the next race when I will lose 50 kg ballast that I have now due to the success in qualifying at the Slovakiaring at the previous racing weekend,” explained the frustrated Serbian driver.

“I hope to fight to enter into the top five at Zandvoort. But, of course, winning 12 new points is something that means something to me.”

Borković now sits 11th in the Drivers Standings as the championship heads to its next round in the Netherlands in three weekend’s time.
