Dániel Nagy will take part in this weekend’s TCR Europe season opener with Zengő Motorsport in a CUPRA Leon Competición, marking a return to the team which started the Hungarian’s touring car career.
At present, the deal is only for the one event, but the duo have not ruled out competing in other TCR Europe events later in the year.
For the past three seasons Nagy has raced a Hyundai i30 N in TCR Europe, with M1RA in 2018 and 2019 before moving to BRC Racing in 2020.
He was a title contender in 2018 before ultimately ending the year fifth overall, his best ranking to-date in the series.
Prior to TCR Europe, Nagy first raced a TCR car with Zengő in 2015 in TCR International, before moving to the World Touring Car Championship in 2016 and 2017, also with the team in a Honda Civic.
Zengő Motorsport has yet to confirm its complete FIA World Touring Car Cup line-up for 2021, with Jordi Gené, Mikel Azcona and Bence Boldizs already confirmed in WTCR, whilst the fourth driver is set to be revealed this week.
