Team Clairet Sport enters four cars into TCR Europe

Team Clairet Sport will enter four cars into this year’s TCR Europe series, running two Peugeot 308 TCR cars and two CUPRA TCR cars.

The team, managed by former racer Jean-Marie Clairet, will continue to run Peugeots for Jimmy and Teddy Clairet, as it has done so for the past two seasons in the European series.

Teddy has been the best performing of the brothers in both 2019 and 2020, last year claiming two podium finishes on his way to ninth overall in the drivers’ standings. Jimmy was 14th overall after taking a best finish of fourth.

“We are very pleased to return to the European series and we have worked hard during the winter to improve the Peugeot 308,” said Teddy Clairet.

“However, it is very difficult to make predictions, because the competition in TCR is incredibly close and several parameters must be taken into account.

“Consistency will be the key and we hope to make the top-five on a regular basis. The level of the competition will be even higher than in previous years, but we’ll do our best, because we are not there to be onlookers.”

The two CUPRA cars will be driven by Gilles Colombani, who contested four events last year in a Peugeot, and Sylvain Pussier, who took part in a one-off entry at Oschersleben in 2019 in a Peugeot.

“I’m so happy to take part in TCR Europe’s full season,” said Pussier, who was recently crowned champion in the Élite class of the Andros Trophy.

“I chose to compete in such a top-level championship to measure myself with the best touring car drivers in Europe with the goals of improving my skills and preparing for the next season of the Andros Trophy.”
