Team Dynamics confirms departure of Dan Cammish

Team Dynamics has announced that Dan Cammish will not form part of its driver line-up for the 2021 British Touring Car Championship, ending his contract early.

Having joined the team in 2018, Cammish signed a two-year contract extension in Autumn 2019 which would have seen him remain at the team for the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

However, it has now been confirmed that Cammish will leave the team ahead of the 2021 season, leaving Team Dynamics yet to confirm a driver for the coming campaign.

In his three years with the team, Cammish has won eight races and been in contention for both the 2019 and 2020 drivers’ titles, narrowly missing out in 2019 when a failure sent him crashing out in the final race of the year.

“Whilst it is really disappointing for me, I have to thank Dynamics for their faith in bringing me into the Championship three years ago,” said Cammish.

“If it weren’t for them, I probably wouldn’t have got my ‘big break’ in the BTCC and managed to do what I have done.

“We have parted on exceptional terms and I will be keeping in contact going forward. You never know what the future will bring.”

James Rodgers, Team Manager, added that the team had wanted to retain Cammish, who has not confirmed his 2021 plans, for the coming season.

“Dan is and always will be part of the Dynamics family,” said Rodgers. “We have tried very hard to keep Dan as part of the team for 2021, but it was not to be, and we have had to part ways.

Matt Neal, Cammish’s team-mate and Team Dynamics Director, added that he would be keeping in touch with the 31-year-old.

“Dan is a fantastic guy and has been a great driver for us,” said Neal. “We wish him all the very best for the future and will very much be keeping in touch.”

Team Dynamics will reveal its first confirmed driver of 2021 on Friday this week (5 March).
