Felice Jelmini to make TCR Europe début at Monza

TCR Italy rookie Felice Jelmini will make his début in the TCR Europe series at Monza this weekend, with the youngster racing the same Hyundai i30 N TCR he uses in the Italian championship.

Jelmini made his TCR Italy début just last year in the season finale, when he immediately impressed and claimed sixth in race two.

In 2020 the 25-year-old has been racing full-season in TCR Italy with PMA Motorsport, where he has already claimed one win at Imola, although he was also stripped of two other wins at Mugello and Misano for a driving infraction and technical infringement respectively.

Jelmini is currently fourth overall in the TCR Italy standings and in contention for the tirle, 25 points behind leader Eric Brigliadori.

“I’m over the moon, because I have been a great fan of TCR from its very beginning and have followed all the races,” said Jelmini, the reigning Renault Clio Cup Italy champion.

“Stepping up to TCR Europe, even for a one-off appearance, is a great feeling. I’m especially happy to race in Monza, because it’s my home race, as I live nearby.

“It’s a kind of realisation for my maiden full season in TCR that is going well, with good results in TCR Italy.

“We are working well with PMA Motorsport, spending time to find the right set up for the Hyundai, and our commitment is actually paying back.”
