Team Clairet Sport expands to four cars for 2020 TCR Europe

Team Clairet Sport has confirmed that it will expand to four cars for the forthcoming TCR Europe season, retaining the services of Jimmy and Teddy Clairet, Gilles Colombani and Stéphane Ventaja.

The team ran three Peugeot 308 cars in the 2019 season, with the Clairet brothers completing the full season, whilst Ventaja and Colombani shared the third car, with the former competing in the first three events, whilst Colombani raced in Austria and Spain.

The team, based in Clamart on the outskirts of Paris, will be aiming to improve on its seventh overall classification in last years’ Team’s championship.

Its best finish last year was in the season finale at Monza, when Teddy Clairet took fourth overall in race two, whilst Jimmy Clairet was eighth in what was just the team’s second double top ten finish of the year.

“We are delighted to confirm our 2020 programme and a further step-up in our efforts, despite the unforeseen situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic,” explained Team Principal Jean-Marie Clairet.

“It is going to be a very busy few months for us, given also our presence in the French championship, but we can rely on the customer support put in place by Peugeot Sport, who will have an engineer and a spare parts truck at every round.

“There are small evolutions in the Peugeot 308 and we will be soon on track for some test days.

“After a very promising maiden season in TCR Europe last year, in which we have learnt a lot, we feel more prepared to face the series’ fierce competition.

“The goal is to make all our drivers progress and aim at some good results.”
