Teamwork Motorsport to campaign Lynk & Co 03 cars in Asian TCR series’

Geely Group Motorsport has delivered its first Lynk & Co 03 TCR cars to customer teams in Asia, with renowned TCR squad Teamwork Motorsport getting three of the cars for racing in TCR China or TCR Asia.

Guangdong, China-based Teamwork, the 2018 TCR China champions, is evaluating its options for competing with the car in series which could include TCR China and TCR Asia.

“The all-round performance that Lynk & Co 03 TCR shown to the world last year in the WTCR was incredible and made our choice easy,” said Teamwork Motorsport Team Principal Paul Hui.

“We are especially glad to start this customer racing programme with a Chinese brand as a Chinese team.

“We’re excited to work with Geely Group Motorsport and Lynk & Co, not only on the circuits, but also enjoy the huge support from the Chinese fans. We are looking forward to a really strong season.

“We are monitoring the coronavirus pandemic closely and our priority is obviously the wellbeing of everyone involved in the project.

“We have a close dialogue with organisers of the championships mentioned and we are ready for when the circumstances are there to race again.”

Alexander Murdzevski Schedvin, Head of Geely Group Motorsport, was pleased to welcome Teamwork into its customer racing fold as the first team after Cyan Racing in WTCR to take delivery of the cars.

“We are very happy to welcome Teamwork Motorsport into the growing family of our Lynk & Co 03 customer racing programme,” added Murdzevski Schedvin.

Customer Sport Director of Geely Group Motorsport, Ron Hartvelt, is confident that Teamwork can take Lynk & Co to the top of the podium with the cars.

“Teamwork Motorsport has shown that it is one of the best touring car teams in the China / Asia region and we are glad that it has chosen the Lynk & Co 03 TCR as our first customer outside of the WTCR,” said Hartvelt.

“With its experience in regional TCR championships and endurance races, we are confident that it can continue the successful track record of the Lynk & Co TCR outside of the WTCR stage.”

The car is available to customer teams at a cost of €136,500.
