Esteban Guerrieri has been handed a three-place grid penalty for the second FIA World Touring Car Cup race in Macau on Sunday, dropping the Honda driver from the reverse grid pole to fourth on the grid.
Guerrieri was deemed to have blocked Hyundai’s Nicky Catsburg in qualifying, earning him the penalty and dropping him to the second row of the grid.
The penalty hands Lynk & Co’s Yann Ehrlacher pole position, with Thed Björk in second and Kevin Ceccon promoted to third.
Guerrieri will also have to start race one on Saturday from the back of the grid after receiving an engine change penalty. He had qualified in 13th initially.
Guerrieri is the current championship leader, with the Münnich Motorsport driver having 288 points compared to Norbert Michelisz’s 282 and Björk’s 248.
Race one is scheduled to get underway at 14:55 local time (06:55 GMT, 07:55 CET) on Saturday.
