M1RA Motorsport driver Luca Engstler heads the second practice session of the TCR Europe finale weekend, as Hyundai continues to dominate at the top.
The 19-year-old set a fastest time of 1 minute 57.009 seconds on his ninth lap, to head a Hyundai top four separated by 0.502 seconds. The South Korean manufacturer taking six of the top ten spots on the timesheet.
Target Competition driver Andreas Bäckman was second fastest, 0.362 seconds slower than Engstler, and the outside chance for the title looks to be showing the pace needed to challenge fellow Target Competition driver Josh Files for the crown.
The British driver was third fastest, briefly topping the session thanks to a 1 minute 57.411 second lap, 0.402 seconds slower than Engstler’s best.
Luca Filippi was fourth fastest, the BRC Racing Team driver setting a time of 1 minute 57.511 seconds on his final attempt.
Santiago Urrutia was fifth fastest and the best placed non-Hyundai driver, setting a time of 1 minute 57.531 seconds in the Team WRT Audi, and only 0.020 seconds slower than Filippi.
Autodis Racing driver Mat’o Homola, who topped the first practice session, was sixth fastest with a time of 1 minute 57.550 seconds, 0.541 seconds slower than Engstler.
Nelson Panciatici was seventh fastest for M Racing with a time of 1 minute 57.550 seconds, 0.313 seconds faster than championship contender JSB Compétition Peugeot driver Julien Briché who set a time of 1 minute 57.905 seconds in eighth place.
Aurélien Comte was ninth fastest for DG Sport Compétition in ninth place, setting a time of 1 minute 57.946 seconds, and only half a tenth faster than Gilles Magnus in the Comtoyou Racing Audi who rounds out the top ten with a time of 1 minute 58 seconds.
