38 teams have been revealed on the initial entry list for the inaugural TCR Spa 500 endurance race at Spa-Francorchamps later in the year, with the majority of entries coming from Volkswagen Group cars.
Teams are represented from 15 different countries, with those in the French, Dutch and Belgian region lodging the highest number of entries (five, five and six respectively).
Top teams have already expressed their interest, including FIA World Touring Car Cup race winners WRT and Comtoyou Racing.
“Spa had, has and will always have a special taste for us,” said WRT Team Principal Vincent Vosse. “This is our home track. I actually attended my very first Spa 24 Hours back in 1977 when I was just five years old, and have since entered the event 15 times!”
The entry list features 14 Audis, 11 CUPRAs, eight Volkswagens and one SEAT, taking the number of Volkswagen Audi Group (VAG) cars to 36. Two Peugeots and two Hyundais have also been entered to-date.
Further entries and confirmation of drivers are expected in the coming weeks. The event takes place on the 3 – 6 October at the iconic circuit, which has a long history of hosting touring car endurance races.
