René Kircher joins Racing One for 2019 TCR Germany

18-year-old German René Kircher will join Racing One for the 2019 ADAC TCR Germany season, graduating from the Clio Cup Central Europe to race an Audi RS3 LMS.

Kircher joins the team which has produced world touring car talents such as Benjamin Leuchter and Niels Langeveld.

“The lap times were fine, but we were most impressed with how calm the boy is and how analytically he approaches everything,” said Team Principal Martin Kohlhaas.

“So, together with our team sponsor Hella Pagid Brake Systems, we deliberately opted for René after a couple of days of testing.

“With two of our former drivers competing in the WTCR this season in Benni Leuchter and Niels Langeveld, we are proud to welcome the next young talent into the team.“

Kirscher has set himself some clear ambitions for the coming season, the fourth of TCR Germany since it began in 2006.

“I’ve set myself the goal to fight for the leading positions and win the rookie title,” said Kirscher. “The experience of racing one and the race record of the past years make me confident and strengthen my will to do everything for this goal.”

Kirscher’s team-mate in the outfit’s second RS3 has yet to be confirmed. TCR Germany gets underway at Oschersleben on 26 – 28 April.
