The entry list for the 2019 ADAC TCR Germany series has been revealed, featuring 21 cars from six different manufacturers and drivers from nine different countries.
Heading up the entry list is reigning champion Harald Proczyk, with the Austrian returning to the series for the fourth consecutive season.
This year Proczyk’s HP Racing outfit will take on a different look, after ditching the Opel Astra cars previously run to compete in a pair of new Hyundai i30 N TCR cars.
Proczyk will also have a new team-mate, with compatriot Lukas Niedertscheider joining him in the team’s second car.
Race winners returning from last year include Honda driver Mike Halder, who was in the race for the title for much of the 2018 season, and Audi racer Antti Buri, who has taken a total of five race wins in TCR Germany since its inception, although the Finn only won once last year.
The grid will feature four rookies, with Brit Bradley Burns, German René Kircher, Malaysian Mitchell Cheah and German Patrick Sing all joining the field.
Cheah joins having tasted success in both the TCR Asia series and TCR Malaysia series with Engstler Motorsport. Burns is stepping up to TCR Germany after two seasons racing in the Renault UK Clio Cup.
Two teams, TOPCAR sport and Racing One, still have two drivers to be confirmed, whilst Hyundai Team Engstler have a car reserved as a ‘VIP auto’ on the entry list.
The most popular car on the grid for 2019 is the Hyundai i30 N, after previous years saw SEAT, Audi and Volkswagen machinery prove to be the most popular (2016 – 2018 respectively).
