AmD Tuning’s Sam Tordoff topped the times again in the British Touring Car Championship afternoon test session at Brands Hatch as the only driver to dip below the 48 second mark.
Tordoff, who was also quickest in the morning session, set a best lap of 47.927s, just over a tenth faster than Jack Goff’s pole lap at the same circuit a year ago.
Motorbase’s Tom Chilton secured second after a late effort to put him ahead of Dan Cammish’s Honda Civic Type R.
Andrew Jordan capped off a strong first showing for the BMW 330i M Sport in fourth position, while Tordoff’s teammate Rory Butcher completed the top five.
2018 runner-up Tom Ingram finished the day sixth in his new Toyota Corolla, ahead of series returnee Jake Hill who placed seventh in his Audi S3.
In seventh position was Ollie Jackson, who completed the most laps of the session with 79 tours, with Tom Oliphant in ninth while BTC Racing’s Chris Smiley rounded out the top ten.
Reigning champion Colin Turkington was just outside the top ten in 11th, with Jason Plato finishing the session in 19th.
The opening round of the British Touring Car Championship gets underway at the same circuit on 6/7 April.
