Argentine racer José Manuel Sapag is the latest in a number of guest entries to be added to the TCR Europe grid at Monza this weekend, where he will race a CUPRA run by Baporo Motorsport.
Sapag will become the first South American driver to join the TCR Europe grid when he makes his début in Italy.
The 22-year-old has competed regularly in the Argentine TC2000 series, where he has been a race winner on multiple occasions.
So far this season he is ranked fifth overall at the wheel of his Citroën C4 Lounge, having taken two podiums so far.
Sapag has already tasted TCR machinery, having won the Alcañiz round of the Campeonato España Resistencia [CER] in a Baporo Motorsport CUPRA.
“I’m very happy with this opportunity to take part in another European event after the CER race at Alcañiz,” said Sapag. “TCR is an excellent platform for my apprenticeship as a touring car driver.
“To race at an historical circuit like Monza in a top level championship like TCR Europe fits perfectly within the sporting programme I am going through in the Argentine touring car series.”
