Dan Lloyd expecting Civic to perform well at Silverstone

Dan Lloyd predicts that his Honda Civic will perform will in this weekend’s British Touring Car Championship races, with the BTC Norlin Racing driver looking to return to regular top ten finishes.

Lloyd heads to Silverstone having had a disastrous weekend last time out in TCR UK, where he is dovetailing his racing season with a full-season campaign.

Consequently, the 26-year-old will be hoping for better fortunes in the BTCC, where he joined the field half-way through the year.

Last time out at Knockhill Lloyd steadily improved in each race, culminating in a tenth place finish to complete the weekend in wet conditions.

He predicts that his civic will perform well at the short Silverstone National circuit, where Honda cars have typically fared well in the past.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back in the car this weekend,” said Lloyd. “The last couple of rounds have been missed opportunities really. We’ve had great pace, but just not got the results to show for it.

“Silverstone favours the front wheel drive cars and I think that the Civic will go well there. I want to make sure that we capitalise on our strengths this weekend and get some good points in the bag.

“Qualifying will be mega close this weekend. Ideally, we need to be breaking into the top ten and looking to move forward from there in the races.

“It’s really important that we get three solid points finishes to help keep the team in the fight for the Independent Teams’ Title.”
