Adam Morgan keen to shake off past Oulton disappointments

British Touring Car Championship leader Adam Morgan hopes to put past disappointments at Oulton Park behind him and defend his points lead this weekend [09-10 June].

The Ciceley Motorsport racer tops the standings heading into a meeting for the first time in his six-year tenure in the championship, and as a result carries the full quota of 75 kilograms of success ballast on board his Mercedes A-Class.

The 2.2 mile Cheshire circuit has never been kind to Morgan in the past, a spectacular fire on the exit of Old Hall last year just one example.

However, the local hero arrives in his best turn of form to date, charged with the protection of his slender lead in the title fight from Josh Cook.

Success ballast in itself with prove a challenge, with several changes in gradient across the lap and characteristically high-speed corners and long straights.

“For once, I’d love to go to Oulton Park and have a good result,” commented Morgan.

“Our history there is not so very good but we’re confident we’ll go there this year on the best form we’ve ever been in and get a result.

“It’s never been that kind to us and with the full 75 kilograms of success ballast on-board as championship leaders, it will be a challenge but we’re hopeful we’ll make the best of it this time around.”

The weekend gets underway with the opening practice session at 09:30 BST tomorrow [9th June].
