Carl Swift and Stewart Lines join forces at Maximum Motorsport

Carl Swift has elected to join forces with Stewart Lines under the Maximum Motorsport entry for the remainder of the TCR UK season, with both drivers having recently upgraded to sequential gearboxes.

Both drivers missed the recent round at Knockhill due to upgrading their cars, but with the changes now complete the duo have also decided to pool their resources under the banner of one team.

“Carl and I both felt that pooling our resources and running under the Maximum Motorsport banner was a no-brainer,” said Lines. “We both run the same cars and we are both determined to fight for results in TCR UK.”

The team’s two CUPRA cars were undergoing a scheduled upgrade between the first and second events of the season, and whilst Lines never planned to go to Knockhill, Swift had to change his plans at the last minute after the late delivery of parts.

“Now that we’ve got the sequential gearboxes fitted, we can take the fight to the likes of Dan Lloyd from Brands Hatch onwards.

“We’ve had a chance to run the cars with the new transmissions and we were delighted at the difference.

“We were both sorry to have to miss Knockhill, but there was no way we would have been able to get the work done. Coming back to the series as a two-car team means we can share certain costs and work together, rather than race as two individuals.

“It’s true that two heads are better than one!”
