Essex-based AmD Tuning have confirmed their participation in the 2018 British Touring Car Championship, again fielding a two-car squad of Audi S3 NGTC cars.
The team scored three top ten finishes during the 2017 season with drivers Ollie Jackson and Ant Whorton-Eales, ending the year with markedly stronger pace than at the beginning.
Whilst no drivers have yet been confirmed, Team Principal Shaun Hollamby has already confirmed that the outfit will remain in the BTCC for a ninth consecutive season next year.
“As ever when a season ends, we have taken time to evaluate our options but it is a no-brainer for us to commit to the BTCC for another year,” said Hollamby. “We made huge steps forward over the course of 2017 and thanks to Ollie and Ant, ended the season with our best points haul and the strongest package we have ever had in the series.
“It is important for us to now capitalise on the hard work that has gone into the Audi in order to maximise our chances of success on track during 2018.
“We are keen to strengthen the engineering side of the team to build on the progress we have made so far, and are already in discussions with drivers as we look to put together the strongest pairing we can to fight for the Independents’ titles.
“Whilst we are aware that that will be a big challenge, there is no doubt in my mind that we now have a car that is capable of running right at the sharp end of the grid and our expectations need to reflect that.
“I’m confident that with the plans we are working towards, this season will prove to be a stepping stone to bigger and better things in 2018 and beyond.”
