Team BMW’s Rob Collard has been forced to withdraw from the season finale of the British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch on medical grounds.
Collard suffered a sizeable shunt in the previous round at Silverstone when contact left him with steering damage and he was unable to avoid an accident with Will Burns.
Although Collard was given the clearance at the time from the doctor, having suffered from bruising around the ribs, following discomfort in practice at Brands Hatch he has been withdrawn from the meeting on medical grounds.

The move is a huge blow to the WSR-run Team BMW outfit, with Collard’s team-mate Colin Turkington currently locked into a fierce championship battle with Subaru’s Ash Sutton.
