Harald Proczyk switches to Opel for TCR Germany finale

Harald Proczyk will compete in this weekend’s ADAC TCR Germany finale at the Hockenheimring in an Opel Astra TCR, switching from the Seat LÉON TCR that he has been using for the majority of the season.

The news was confirmed earlier today by Lubner Motorsport, who have been running Switzerland’s Jasmin Preisig and Germany’s Georg Braun this year.

The Austrian, who took the runner-up spot behind current points leader Josh Files last season, is currently fifth in the standings on 200 points, and will be reunited with the outfit, having raced with them in the Citroën Saxo Cup in 1999.

“The whole team is looking forward to working with Hari and his team,” stated team principal Mirko Lubner via the team’s official Facebook page.

“We know that Hari is a very good driver, and are all excited about how the whole Lubner/Proczyk/Opel Astra TCR package works together.”

The association will still see Proczyk race under the HP Racing banner at Hockenheim, with Lubner Motorsport providing support for the 41-year-old.
