MG’s Josh Cook has been handed a one-race ban for the next round of the British Touring Car Championship, after accumulating four strikes for contact with Stephen Jelley in race three.
Cook had earlier picked up an official reprimand and two penalty points for an incident involving Mat Jackson in the second race of the day, which demoted him to the back of the grid for the final race as it was his third strike.
But Cook then went on to make further contact with Jelley in race three, resulting in the ban and a £500 fine being handed out.

MG racing RCIB Insurance have appealed the decision, which will be heard on Friday 15 September at Silverstone.
