‘Something needs to change’ says James Nash after Spa struggles

James Nash says that ‘something needs to change’ after the SEAT driver struggled to just one points finish in the TCR International Series races at Spa-Francorchamps.

Nash could only manage eighth in the second TCR race in Belgium, after qualifying down in 16th position on Friday and struggling for pace all weekend.

Whilst part of the team’s issues were compounded by new entrants to the championship receiving fresh rubber, Craft-Bamboo Racing have previously made clear their frustrations about the current Balance of Performance [BoP] system.

“I made two great starts and enjoyed the races,” said Nash. “But, with the car and team we’ve got we shouldn’t be struggling to make the top ten.

“Something’s not quite right; how can it be [that] my teammates Pepe Oriola, Hugo Valente and me are nowhere?

“There are too many cars out there whether in qualifying or race trim or wet or dry that we just can’t hope to live with.

“Hopefully, we’ll make the break-through soon.”

Nash is currently joint eighth in the drivers’ championship with 38 points, 53 points adrift of championship leader Jean-Karl Vernay.
