Jason Plato will not contest the final British Touring Car Championship race at Brands Hatch as a result of heavy damage to his Subaru Levorg GT.
Plato, who made contact off the start with the Honda Civic Type R of Matt Simpson, subsequently hit the pit wall head on and suffered extensive damage to the front end of the car.
Team BMR’s mechanics have worked flat out since in an attempt to repair the stricken machine, but with time against them Plato has been forced to withdraw from the third and final race.

He had previously been taken to the medical centre for precautionary checks but has returned to the Team BMR garage with no outstanding issues.
